Language is a means of communication. Only when we communicate, we understand what the other person wants to convey to us or what we want to convey to them. Otherwise there are chances that we end up giving a wrong message to others and finally there might be chaos.

Now let me come to the most important language in today’s scenario. We live in a corporate world and in this corporate world, the language English is a must. Most people feel that learning English is like climbing Mt. Everest. It is not at all so. It is a wonderful language, its a skill that one can access through practice. The following thought goes right with it, ‘Practice makes a man perfect’. Absolutely right, only through practice a person can succeed. Not only English, be it anything in the world needs practice. 

 

Let me come to the point, ‘reading’ is a must to learn English. Start with a simple story book and gradually increase the standard of books. Keep reading even when you don’t understand. Read the same paragraph again and again. Gradually you will fall into a practice of reading. Make use of the dictionary. Have a willingness to learn new words. Nowadays technology has become our savior. The zestful new generation might ask why to make use of a dictionary when we can easily find things at the touch of a button. I tell you dear children, reading from a hardcopy would leave an everlasting impression on your mind. Whereas, you would never completely read the sentences from a soft copy and will never read it till the end.

Try to read as many books as possible. One important point that I would like to mention is, concentrate on the punctuation marks because punctuation plays a very important role in reading. Punctuation always helps us to understand the rhythm, pause, short breaks, tone, etc., in a sentence.

Learning English is like the turbulence that we feel when we sit on the roller-coaster ride. You might feel the irregular motion, the bumps, the fearful turns, the steep slopes and all sorts of confusions but at the end of all these turbulences we are fully satisfied with the relishing ride. The same way there are many turbulences while we learn English but these turbulences are only temporary and soon we can come out with excellent results. Believe me, it’s fun learning English. So get ready to go on a beautiful ride with us.
